Myles has been in the latest issues of Classic Rock & Metal Hammer saying the plan is to get to the UK at the end of the year. So not sure how that will play out.

3rd stage is probably a similar size audience wise,to most of the Academies.

Downloads twitter was promoting the black crowes tour earlier.
They'd be a welcome addition IMO. how big are they though? I've not a clue tbh. 3rd stage headliner? (Tho I'd hate that unless it was vs maiden!)

Bollocks because they're not headlining Hellfest or Graspop.
So basically you think they will be headlining the events that Ozzy did this Summer regardless. Azkena (possible, Kiss are headlining one night), Graspop (not headlining), Hellfest (not headlining), Gods of Metal (cancelled next year).
There's not many events left for them apart from a few Sonisphere shows and the August festivals such Sziget, Frequency, Area 4 etc.

I haven't heard anything about this either and the only thing that seems plausible is that it will be the 30th anniversary since they last played at Reading.
Surely if Sabbath are to play Reading/Leeds, they would be headlining other festivals as well on this alleged European tour. Someone claimed they were headlining Hellfest and Graspop, which is utter B*llocks and simply not true, so starting to doubt this rumour.

i don't think the 'brand' side of things is as meaningful (for anything) as much as people like to pretend.
What people want from a festival like this is crackin' bands. If it books the right bands people will come, if it doesn't then they won't.

Oh of course, if they are sticking with the same art thats fine. Just the way you said it, wouldn't look great changing the design half way through.

Nah they've jumped between 3 then 4. They'll add them as they go - as they did lastvyear.
Afaik the sites and posters this year arent done yet. Hence France and Italy are currently using 2011's web design and poster too. I expect that to change

if they were considered by download at this time to headline they would be instead of one of the others, namely slipknot who are blaits a late booking as they thought they had pearl jam but didn't.
But nope they end up on 2nd stage, money regardless, bands charge what they do. This is a band that download in 2008 had headline and were clearly the strongest headliner in what went down as a successful year i hear

Thunder have an annoucement on Tuesday that ain't an album or tour. So guessing its a festival date? Rock Show on Monday night/Tuesday morning?

Yep can see them going for it, how good an idea it is with them doing a stadium tour before hand? I'm not sure. Day tickets will be fine though.

Why is everyone assuming Rammstein? I know there was the 3 different countries thing, but was it ever confirmed as one being German?

Didn't he just say he wanted to have all three booked before annoucing? It would be silly to go with all three at once. I'm guessing they will be spread over a week or two. Better to be big in the news for a longer period than one big splash.
