The Enemy are shit. / Laura Marling on the main stage would be awesome in the sunshine.
-
I didn't know thay, but that's why I said I hope, I'm not a fan of yyy's. I think the enemy are under rated tbh. Then again I don't particularly like vampire weekend, they irritate me. The Sunday looks awesome though. I'm glad that isn't the real line up because I wouldn't buy a ticket for it, not ebough people on there I'd go nuts to see, but that's my opinion. 2008, 2009 and 2010 were the best lineups ever for me.
-
Glad I'm not the only one who thinks Maximo won't headline NME, they're not relevant anymore. Wombats would do a better job, I'd like them to post main though. Tinie Tempah NME headliner?
-
The Enemy are just as popular, and their music is so much better imo.
-
The poster is pretty good although it doesn't really float my boat. Really hope Laura Marling doesn't play main stage, ever, she bores me beyond belief. I don't think yeah yeah yeahs would play 3rd, well I hope. would swap the enemy with vampire weekend as the enemy are amazing and have a new album out in 2012.

Soundgarden won't headline R&L, I'm that confident of saying it.

2012
in Sonisphere
To be honest, Linkin Park headlined in 08 and haven't returned so wouldn't it back it 2 out of 5?
You maybe right about Tool. It seems Download don't have them and with the latest RAR announcement without Tool on it. Surely they would be if they were playing it.
As said, US tour early year, possible Soni tour and then UK dates later in the year.
If R&L don't have them, Linkin Park, Tool and Guns N' Roses is pretty big. Though luckysalt posed that he had info from a source, not like the best like but that Soni had 3 headliners who haven't before. Guns would be 1, Tool would be another, the 3rd, hmmm?
Other than that, Green Day instead of LP would be top.

Meh :L Sum 41 are more popular than a lot of people think, I was at Soni this year n their crowd was massive and they played an awesome set, so good live, until they got their sound cut for going over by about 4mins!
Back to reading though, I see the RHCP rumours seem to have died down, not just for reading but everywhere else too, is the knebworth gig their only one officially?

Not an out and out prediction for next year, well it is kinda, but mixed with a fantasy line up:
MAIN
Bloc Party
Noel Gallagher
Editors
The Enemy
The Gaslight Anthem
The Vaccines
The Subways
Bombay Bicycle Club
Viva Brother
NME
Chase & Status
Ed Sheeran
Frank Turner
Get Cape.Wear Cape.Fly.
MAIN
Jay-Z & Kanye
Paramore
Dizzee Rascal
You Me At Six
The Courteeners
The Wombats
The King Blues
The Futureheads
NME
Mumford & Sons
Two Door Cinema Club
Foals
Carl Barat
MAIN
Slipknot
Pendulum (Yes i know they're taking a break from touring next year but meh)
Avenged Sevenfold
Cypress Hill
Sum 41
Billy Talent
A Day To Remember
Four Year Strong
Hyro Da Hero
NME
Tinie Tempah
Wu-Tang Clan
The Naked & Famous
Rizzle Kicks
Now that would be one sick line up imo

I hope LP aren't back at Soni, or Rammstein. Not because i dislike them, but purely because that means out of the four years soni would have been in existence, Rammstein and LP have headlined two of those years, plus Metallica doing the same. Its pretty lazy imo if they keep inviting acts back again and again, plus its not as exciting for the fans if the same group of bands are continually booked. GNR, Tool & Bullet im gunna say.

I wouldn't want to watch Axl and his touring band, the lateness is beyond a pisstake and like the other fella on this page said, Axl is way past it now, I'm pretty sure it isn't even Axl anymore, Keith Lemon has taken his place :L Agreed about Sabbath, they will probs be dire. I hope Bullet get given the chance to headline.
-
I don't know if Pendulum could headline in 2013, Sub deffo. Maybe in 2014 along with The Vaccines ! I hope Metallica are back soon. Could they be back next year? Or is DL exclusive? Regardless surely theyre all whored out now after being over here every year for the last 1,000 years at some fest or another
-
Yeah I get you. I doubt Bullet would have the same level of popularity at reading as they do at download, I'd be in the front row though realistically, who are we looking at next year as headliners and subs? Off subject but I'm praying Cypress Hill are gunna be back, i missed them in 2010 cuz I went to get some beverages from my mates car :/ gutted doesn't come close to it
-
Too soon for Limp Bizkit? Too late more like, they aren't exactly an up-and-coming band.
-
Ah fairplay, yes they announced earlier this year that 2012 would be a year off touring, recording a new album I guess too and all that.
Pendulum would need to at least sub main stage due to it being dark enough but I don't think headliner yet, there next album would need to be HUGE for them to get the chance of that but subbing Beyonce this year at glasto, their crowd was massive and they nailed it and that was fairly light still.
Too soon yes for Bizkit, don't see them subbing to be honest.
-
Yeah I thought that about download too, but then they announced their lots so I still reckon theres an outside chance of the knot. I wasn't aware of Pendulum not touring, but theyre deffo ready to sub. I don't know if a heavy band has to go under system, just a kinda crossover act who would appeal. But apart from pendulum I can't think of any big enough. Too soon for Limp Bizkit?
-
Probs won't happen but it'd be awesome if Slipknot headlined. Or S.O.A.D, I reckon there's a fair chance they might
Slipknot or S.O.A.D (Not both)
Pendulum
A7X
Bloc Party
Dizzee Rascal
Editors
Foo Fighters
Soundgarden
Noel Gallagher
Then Mumford headlining NME opposite Slipknot/S.O.A.D? That choice would please most I reckon.
-
Reverse your headliners around so Radiohead play Friday and it's a good shout, though I still reckon that The Stone Roses needs to not happen for Biffy to be back so soon and headline. It's quite clear even given Melvin Benn's latest R&L statement that The Roses surely would take a headline glasto spot over R&L, they will have cashed in heavily next year so couldnt' see their appearance there until at least the following year after.
-
Avenged Sevenfold would never be that low i reckon they would be 3rd if not sub.
-
You're judging a festival about which there are no publicly known details on the basis of a proven inaccurate rumour?
-
As a Reading attendee, I'd love that line up.
-
Ok. Back to who would sub Jay & Kanye?
-
Any particular reason why?
-
Nickelback are big enough to headline, but more likely at a future Download festival. I reckon they would sub R&L. Possibly to Foo's, that'd be pretty cool. If Jay-Z & Kanye headline (I'm praying they do), who would sub them? Dizzee? Or a band not of the same genre? Limp Bizkit would be sick!
