The Big Four Will Not Play The UK Together
And we’ve got the reason right here.
Word has reached Metal Hammer that ‘The Big Four’ will not be playing the UK this summer. As you are all now aware, Megadeth have been confirmed for Download and Anthrax and Slayer will be at Sonisphere.
What we have just been made aware of is that Download have an agreement with Megadeth that ensures that the only UK festival that you will be able to see Mustaine and co at this summer will be Download.
As previously announced, Slayer and Anthrax are UK festival exclusives to Sonisphere.
It goes without saying that this ensures that ‘The Big Four’ will not share the stage at any UK festivals this summer.
Looks like it’s Euro road-trips to Sonisphere Europe all around then.

I am at the older end as well been to every Download except 2008 (was going but couldn`t go in the end) and quite a few of the monsters of rock ones.Loved every minute of it everytime great mix of people etc.You get your twats but very few of them.
Don`t even go there with Reading went 2008 (on a Sunday day ticket) for a change really disliked pretty much everything about it very clicky atmosphere.
Sonisphere will be my first one this year so looking forward to that.

Download To Announce In 2 Weeks
download We reckon AC/DC are going to be part of the party but we’ll get a definite answer in 2 weeks time!
According to Download promoter Andy Copping’s Twitter, Download 2010 will reveal their first batch of bands in just over 2 weeks time. Speaking on his Twitter, Copping revealed “Loads of rumours going round about who’s playing Download…not long left…the first wave of bands will be announced in just over two weeks.”

I think Ive mentioned this before but surely Clutch and Black Label Society will be added to Sonisphere, both playing the lower stage at High Voltage the week before Soni. Surely they wouldn't come over to the UK just to do that?
Especially as they haven't been announced as an exclusive. Id be f**king made up if they do play Soni too

Nah. No way are they having Lostprophets headline twice in three years. Just not gonna happen. Swap them for Rammstein at soni and things look a bit closer to what might happen.
I think Blink will do Reading/Leeds as headliners due to the lack of Muse and Green Day. They might even pull off the unthinkable and get AC/DC.
Pearl Jam would be cool, but Van Halen have been ruled out by Copping himself who said they're too expensive and not popular enough to justify booking them.

Rammstein Download Rumours Take A Hit
As you well know, we like to play festival mathematics around these parts and we’ve been predicting Rammstein for Download 2010 since Def Leppard’s last note rung out at this year’s kick-ass festival.
Well, while there’s still hope of Rammstein blowing tonnes of shit up and making Donington Park look like another day in Beirut, the German noise terrorists have confirmed that they will be playing Austria’s Nova Rock festival which takes place on the same weekend as next year’s Download festival (June 11th – June 13th).
Obviously, this doesn’t rule Rammstein out of the running, but it does throw a rusty spanner into the works.

Only went Sat Chems.The Specials were great and really surprised myself by loving Pendulum they was at Download but I didn`t bother with them everyone keeps on how good they are so thought I would check them out.By the time they came on I was super pissed really enjoyed them but missed everyone after as I was so drunk I went looking for my people found me slumped outside the Union during the Killers.Definately going next year.

There's been alot of negativity on these boards in the lead up to V with alot of people saying this is their last time etc, etc. People may fancy a change and thats fair enough. I went to Glastonbury this year and have to say it was an amazing experience BUT just a quick message to those thinking of jumping ship to Reading next year, dont f**king do it!
Went last year and the atmosphere was f**king horrible. In fairness the lineup was amazing and alot of people would think that to be top of the list on importance (which is fair enough) but if youre looking for a proper festival experience that doesnt include the constant threat of fighting and having your stuff set on fire - go glasto, or stick with V

Also, not as funny as it was disturbing, but did anyone see the guy at the village bar on the Saturday night get up on the table, strip and start w*nking?! Twas more than a bit weird, my friend was trying to get me to film it, but I didn't want a vid of a guy having a w*nk on my camera! He was then pelted by cans for a while before being taken away by security!

This is a true story back in the M.O.R. days they allowed huge camp fires.My mate pulled this girl and went into his tent to have sex.Anyway we noticed that the fire was shining enough light so you could see everything sillueted what they was up to.We called all of the people we could around us to watch telling them to keep quite when my mate shot his lot we all cheered about 20+ people you have never seen 2 people move so quick.
The other year was my brothers stag do so when he had gone for a wander we filled his tent with whatever we could find empty beer cans,food wrappers,mud etcWhen He went to bed finally nothing was said,we thought this strange then realised in our pissed up state we had done the wrong tent and they was not even camping with us.We told them some kids had been hanging around and they must of done it.
