There was quite a bit of crossover with Outbreak last year (and already some this year with Hot Mulligan / Gouge Away) so thinking/hoping we might get the likes of:
Balance and Composure
The Hotelier
Movements
Touche Amore
Soccer Mommy
TWIABP
Mannequin Pussy
Sweet Pill
Some possible but would be very surpriosed if Balance and Composure stay in Europe for two weeks. Band is in addition to their day jobs so I don't expect a 2 week European tour.

RE Citizen - the Feb tour was heavily pushed by Good as Gold group when it was announced so I assume they'll be on Trees target list for 24, and seems like calendars are lining up.

Went to see Queens of the Stone Age at the O2 last night, had a seat in the gods. There was a lot more movement on the floor for some of the newer material than some of the earlier stuff. It seemed the floor got a lot looser from Smooth Sailing, considering there were a couple of old cuts up beforehand. The trio of Songs for the Deaf song encore had the whole floor moving mind.
I thought they were great, they're clearly having a ball performing at the minute and that really adds to the show.
They're a great headliner for Download. I think fans will love the show as they'll be expecting a 50% 2013 onwards set, however I see the argument that stereotypical Download casuals who are probably more familiar with the first few QOTSA records may come away complaining in June.

Watched on Iplayer, really good. Looking forward to their London show later in the year.
Couldn't help but notice they were using foam in-ears rather than proper in-ear monitors, do they always do that?

Hoping for Cheap / Free tickets for Bombay Bicycle Club, Tame Impala and The Wombats. Great festival, been to days both years so far. Hope they manage to keep going but I feel 6 days per year is a bit over-ambitious given the capacity & amount of competition for London one dayers.

I'd say playing High Violet distinguishes the show enough to justify coming back after 2 years, but whether they will or not i wouldn't be so sure. Could be that they've been roped in after the NIN pull out.

I had not thought of that... cheers.
Were you successful and if so, where?
I'm in a similar situation where I need to swap two Brighton Standing tickets for two seated tickets - I recently had a fall and injured my back and I'll be unable to stand for 2+ hours.

Funny thing is I imagine they're not worried. There's another concert (similar to Green Day but I can't share) that is scheduled the same day which shares similar fans.
We had a concert last year with Metallica and the Cure scheduled the same day. Both concerts still sold well.Dublin?

I see. Ouch. Although, there's probably a significant number who just entered the ballot because it was free and got an email without intention of heading down so I could imagine it being fine.
Been to a few there and never had any trouble, and never heard about them reaching capacity on these things, but in theory you could win a ticket and end up not getting in.

Shirley what it means is that, if you have won a ticket through the ballot, you arrive around doors and get in. Then after a while, they count the number of no-shows and let in that many people hanging about outside on the off-chance?
With HOV shows they always offer free tickets. They give out 115% of capacity worth of free tickets, assuming that 15% of people won't show up. Therefore the ticket "does not guarantee entry" as only the first 100% of capacity will be let in, and the remaining 15% (if they show) don't. Then again, if only 90% of capacity show up for the gig they'll try and fill it up with people milling about outside.

Thought foals would be doing shows bigger than Olympia on their next tour, thats smaller capacity than ally pally (although only by a few hundred), can’t see them headlining (outright) next year doing venues like that
Perhaps, or it's a deliberately smaller tour due to big summer plans

Not sure if Trees would go for them but King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard are the perfect band to headline.

One year at Trees all they played between bands was Mars volta. It was dreadful ?
Yeah, they had to keep stopping The Mars Volta so we could listen to shitty bands! ?

Mezingers are bigger now (or after this upcoming tour) than Nothing But Thieves were when they did it. Could see them getting the bump next year.
No they aren't, Nothing But Thieves sold out the Forum and Brixton on separate tours in 2016, and went on to do a double header at the Roundhouse as part of an extensive UK Tour later in 2017 after they headlined. The Menzingers can't compete with that. They're a sub at trees at best.

I'm surprised The Interrupters are doing it as they have their own UK tour in Feb to sell first, I would of thought they'd be announced after their tour is done.
They're only announced for the US leg

Went along to the You me At Six show yesterday. Had a lot of fun, never queued for a drink despite the festival being incredibly busy. Think they could have done with some more toilets. Was fine for Gents, but queues for portaloos for the ladies were quite severe. Didn't have any trouble getting near the stage by walking around the tent and entering on the far side rather than the side nearer the entrance. Good event, would return.

Gnarwolves have not officially "split up", however the members are doing other things for the time being.

Im more getting at that given Download weekend is Nova Rock too and week before is Rock AM/IM I think more bands than usual are going to be tempted to do a European Festival run as these big ones are clustered together in a 3 week space this year. Doing all 7 fests in 3 weeks would be one hell of a festival run for any band so its gotta be tempting managers and labels!
FYI, it's like this every year.

bring me the horizon have GOT to headline reading soon, that APE show was absolutely phenomenal
You don't headline festivals on a stage show or a great performance, you headline them on album and ticket sales.

Of those half that didn't buy a beer from the bar, how many do we reckon were under 18?

Dinosaur Pile Up are on tour in the states from mid june to end of july... supporting Shinedown. Lol to that, but means they won't play trees.
