Hah.. Not the article I was thinking of..
Just things he's said about fence jumpers. I'm sure there was an article earlier in the year too but I'm darned if I can find it.
-
Michael Eavis himself was quoted saying he wished more people would hop the fence.
Lots of people do find other ways than tickets. I myself have never bought an official ticket. The first year I came I bought a band ticket from my mate for £50. I've worked many years and even the couple I've blagged my way in once there I've found useful things to get on with. The paying punters are only a part of the rich tapestry that is Glasto.

I've been facing this dilemma too. Not sure if I should take my new nikon SLR or my old Fuji bridge camera. Worried about getting it stolen or damaging it.
-
Its not an auto-correct. Little Chef restaurants have been know as Little Thiefs for as long as I remember.
-
In 2011 the main benefits I found of the hospitality area were the cut through from pyramid to other and the nice clean flushing loos.
-
You'll be alright getting into the carpark without a ticket. I've done it several times. Just tell them your friend is meeting you at the gate with your ticket because you're working on the info points or similar.
I always employ my favourite tactic of telling the steward I'm talking to that the last one I spoke to said it would be fine then pointing back and waving. They have no clue anyway and don't want to disrupt traffic flow. Plus you have a car park ticket.

Oh mega thanks! Im on it! My feet will be happy this year!
Yeah, me too. Thanks for the tip-off.
-
Beardy here too. I say keep it. It suits you and beards are cool!
-
None. Always cut them off when I get home and have a shower.
-
Just been talking to my friend who is on site already. He told me to bring an extra blanket as its cold at night. Obviously it'll be warmer when the festivals on because of all the sunshine but still worth being prepared for chillyness.
-
Oh ok. I hadn't heard about camplight but I just checked out their site. Interesting
I didn't see anything that looked like their area. I'm back up next week so I'll spy it out. Maybe take my SLR. Pics I got today are poor.
-
Camp light?
Did get a couple of pics but they're on my phone. Will get them off tomorrow. Didn't realise there had been crew camping down there previously. I guess the glade lot had to camp somewhere. I believe its Arcadia, Avalon and some other areas crew that are there now.
-
..down to the farm today.
Sun was shining and its a hive of activity there. Looking great.
I dropped off a caravan for Arcadia in their crew camping area. Definitely seems to be a chunk of the bottom end of Pennard Hill Ground thats been devoted to crew now. Something to bear in mind if you plan to camp there.

I take a pack of nutrigrains and usually eat them. They're good for when back at camp feeling peckish and give a bit of slow release energy.

Sooo.. Car failed the MOT! BOOOOOO!
It only failed on 3 bulbs and an ARB bushy thing though so should pass the retest tomorrow. Yay!!
-
Ordered spare phone battery, camera/torch batteries, para-cord for building my sun shade.
Put up my tent to air it. Washed my sleeping bag and rucksack.
Fixed bits on the car and gave it a clean before the MOT today. Crossing fingers as I need my truck for delivering things to site. No truck, no ticket. *gulp*
-
Did this one year but with normal blue tarp,it works, its basically like pitching your tent in the shade.
-
I'm going to take one of those tarps that are black on one side and silver on the other. That combined with some hazel poles, cable ties, duck tape and paracord should enable me to cobble something together.
-
Ah dammit.. Guess I'll have to see if I can score some tickets to that then..
They announced their Holland dates and mentioned only one uk festival so I won't be holding my breath for Glasto now..
-
PLEASE let this be true! Them + Rodriguez are the two on the list I'm most excited about. Well, and The Stones <ducks>.
Kitty, I 'm a fool and I wanna touch it - Miaow miaow miaow miaow miaow miaow!
Amazing.

The subterannean piano bar is awesome depending on what time you end up there. In 2010 I stumbled in there with a friend and as we settled down to enjoy the fun I looked up into the royal box only to realise that Michael Eavis was the elected king. I then heard a commotion and turned to see one of my best friends in the stocks dressed as King Charles. It was a trippy night.
-
I can only imagine what fun they'd be playing live, never watched them before so, fingers crossed!
-
well with nothing but your info to go on, there may be a chance of them at Glastonbury.
do they still play Peaches and Lump (because i loved them in my teens) so i can jump about and show myself up a bit?
-
Still going..
They split for a few years then reformed with a new guitbassist. Five albums now.
They're bigger in the states and japan but their tours still sell pretty well.
I saw them last year in Bristol and they were ace.
My little brother called me from in front of the pyramid stage last night

You know the more I look the more I think someone referenced that fake article on my facebook or something. I certainly hadn't read it before today. Durrrr.
