  1. our kids' last primary school headmaster used to utilise a holiday form type of system, like businesses do. The new one evidently has quotas and targets to hit and says you can ask to take kids out of school but it will go down as 'unauthorised'.

It is his decision, however, whether to report the absence to higher authorities, and last year didn't report anyone. He knew when people were taking kids outta school, as did the last headmaster, and this way he hit his targets, but it still left us unsure if there was going to be reprisals when we returned.

Shit situation....but luckily kept on his good side so far, so will do the same again in June

  2. gotta feeling this debate will rumble on til june....and must admit to feeling more than a little happy that i was going to see Gorillaz rather than U2 last year....and then....

Gorillaz let me down badly. I didn't come away satisfied at all, although i know many others did ;)

The Edge was fantastic with Muse....gave me a right buzz just seeing him, let alone playing 'Streets' with him. I'd forgotten just how much i loved the Joshua Tree

Keane did 'With or without you' and were INCREDIBLE!! (I was shocked at just how good that gig was!) REALLY made me feel that to see U2 sing it would just be something special

For me, I am now very much looking forward to hear Joshua Tree stuff, and one or two others. They will please the crowd that show up I'm sure, as long as they have a FEW old sing-alongs in the set :)

  3. Yeah defo. Its not at all walkable. Glastonbury town isn't actually as near the festie site as people think. Its 6 or 7 miles away.

Ive got a taxi on the Wednesday morning for the last few years from Glastonbury town. Its great. Theres a “taxi only route” which takes about 10 minutes and same on the way back. Getting in and out of the site is easy via taxi.

  4. Having (quite a few) tinnies in the carpark tues night was actually alotta fun. Great atmosphere...real anticipation in the air. Wouldn't mind trying the riflemans this year for a few tho. Is a taxi ride required from the west carparks?

  5. 04 muse/KOL...oh go on then, sir p mccartney, front n centre

09 dead weather - could've been kasabian, was on barrier but I was more than a bit spacey!

10 keane. Am surprised myself! Shoulda been muse...was front n centre and saw nothing but security

    Biggest disappointments

    04 oasis

09 not getting to see bloc party

    10 gorillaz

  6. I am really looking forward to seeing these this year. I Missed them in 2008? My first year in 2009, caught Allison with Dead weather last year. She is really THE rock chick goddess! I am loving their new album and the sets going to be rocking. I might even try to scramble near to the

front ( which i don't normally do) especially to catch some sexyness from Miss Mosshart! It could be a nail in my coffin, and i don't need another one! :P
