  1. Maybe it's because people really want to see Keanes frontmans ever more rounded face actually transform into a perfect sphere and detach itself from his neck, becoming it's own sentient lifeform before their very eyes.

David Gilmour doesn't have a face like moulded cheese, his face actually has edges you see.

  2. They often end the show with Baba O'Riley by The Who...and then Yellow Ledbetter takes it home. However for Reading I think they're likely to close it with Alive. I'd also bet on them doing Lukin straight into Not For You....and they'll almost definitely play Corduroy, Evenflow, Black, Better Man, Do The Ev, Given to Fly...all the favourites basically.

    I would recommend

    Alive, Porch and Black (TEN)

    Rearviewmirror, Go, Indifference (VS)

Corduroy, Better Man, Not For You (VITALOGY)

In My Tree, In My Tree, In My Tree (NO CODE)

Do The Evolution, Given to Fly, Low Light (YIELD)

    Grievance, Grievance, Grievance (BINAURAL)

    nothing from RIOT ACT

Leaving Here, Sad, Yellow Ledbetter (LOST DOGS)

Life Wasted, Unemployable, Inside Job (PEARL JAM).

Some other excellent songs that aren't on albums are Long Road, Breath and State of Love and Trust. All great tracks.

  3. Agreed (Binaural was also the biggest 'grower' album for me...love it now). But often you have to become a fan first. It's like recommending In Through The Out Door as one of three Led Zeppelin albums to a newcomer....which would be a tragedy.

    Either way, Binaural rocks!

to clarify, I know what you're saying. It's just that I know what's best for him.

    j/k of course.

  4. To be honest

    Ten

    Vs

    Yield

Those are the three best albums in my opinion...an they also encapsulate everything they're about. Rockin out and reaching ballads. It's not rocket science. You can get anal about it and say Vitalogy has this and Binaural has that, but when it comes down to it you won't find anything drastically different on those albums.

But No Code has In My Tree on it. And this song along encompasses everything that is good about anything.

I thought the original Last Kiss person was a bird?

They are 68% likely to play Rearviewmirror live.

  5. Have you heard the song?

The riff is very nearly the same as the Porch riff. It's not harsh at all. If they use the same riff then there's obviously going to be comparison. In my opinion Porch is 10 times as good as Severed Hand.

I love every PJ album, but too be honest this is shaping up to be my least favourite. I've heard WWS, SH, Unemployable and Parachutes. WWS and Unemployable are quite good but nothing special, Parachutes doesn't do much for me and SH is pretty poor.

  6. The new album is about four thousand times better than their last effort. It leaked yesterday and I think virtually everyone will prefer it to Riot Act...and probably Binaural too. There aren't really any 'weak' songs on it and there are at least 3 or 4 absolute classics.

Severed Hand is an intense, upbeat rocker in the vein of Porch. Unemployable is a massive departure from their sound. Very interesting and suits his voice perfectly today.

Then the last three songs are really beautiful. Army Reserve, Come Back (lighters aloft!) and Inside Job. The last one especially.
