  1. just noticed richie hawtin & maya jane coles have been added for Sonar doing a Showcase for his night Enter.

    they should be at glastonbury.

(although i think i saw hawtin say on twitter at the weekend he's in mexico at end of June)

  2. kenny rogers i'd have thought would've been the 'legend' all along for the sunday

which going on past legends is disappointing as bar the gambler & islands in the stream, i cant think of any crossover hits the guy has had outwith his country audience...and i doubt many of them will be in attendance.

    poor booking.

as is nick cave on a main stage at a festival...that guy is made to play (and it suits him & his music) 2-3000 concert halls / theatres where its very dark...very very dark inside.

but then anyone waiting for mumford & sons..(a laughable headliner for a festival and surely no real music fan can actually like such a wet timid novelty act?) deserves some form of musical education i suppose.

my view is that the the pyramid & the other stage lineup is terrible, and sunday is a prime indication of that.

  3. Eastern Electrics was absolutely awash with gilet wearing idiots last year and is the primary reason why I'm not going to the 3 day event they are doing this year. I'm sure half of the crowd were more interested in just getting off their faces, looking at the opposite sex and talking very loudly throughout all of the music about how messy they were. Absolute crowd that lot

  4. i'm looking at one of the for myself & my cousin:

    should be plenty of space.

    1. £120

    2. £160

(not sure worth the extra £40 for the xl version though)

    3. £100

(Cheapest, gives most head height room, but not as easy to assemble....)

i currently have the 2 man quechua pop up that i've used at a couple Rockness's...very easy to pop up & put into position, no issue with water getting in or anythihng...i will say, they can be a tricky beast to dismantle though and fold back into the correct shape ...(definitely takes a bit of practise / watching the video / and will be a bit frustrating at first...last time at rockness i was ready to just leave the tent after spending ages tryingt o get it down, end up my mate done it for me (much to the laughter of everyone else in our crowd!!) and he folded it in about 2mins!!

  5. Yeah I get that - out of interest who you would describe as a wow DJ or live act to play? Just having another look back through your original list of wants and I can imagine most of those turning up at some stage during the festival. There is still absolutely loads to announce but I can see why you may have been a tad underwhelmed by the initial line up for Silver Hayes.

If you scour through the line up though there are loads of good acts already - Bicep, Kerri Chandler, Simian Mobile Disco, Mixhell etc along with the people you would expect to be there becuase they are currently fairly big such as Disclosure and Hot Natured.

For me if some of the following acts are announced I will be overjoyed: Joy Orbison, Blawan, Oneman, Four Tet, Daphni, Sebastian, Felix Da Housecat, Riton - basically far too many to mention - in my experience I have only ever spent a small amount of time in the Dance Village and have done most of my dance music consumption in the late night areas where I am normally far too messy to care who the actual DJ is, as long as the music is good it doesn't really matter who is putting the two tracks together.

  6. If you look back through the years the dance line up has typically been very good, but trying to compete with events like Sensation, Tomorrowland etc? They really don't need to be trying to better those events and don't have the budget to spend on a relatively niche part of the festival.

If you are judging the entire line up on what has been listed for Silver Hayes so far then you have plainly overlooked the Block 9 announcements (which have some of your 'wanted' artists) the line up will be good, it always is, but don't expect them to have the available budget to create a premier dance festival within what is already the premier festival - the interest isn't there to warrant such an outlay!

And this is coming from someone that is a massive fan of dance music

  7. Mentioning them was based more around the rumours of them being booked for SH and then disappearing off the radar completely with the main official announcement.

As for the need for new blood completely agree with you but the one of the beauties of Glastonbury for me is there's always a balance of old & new. With Barnes deciding to perform again under the name that guarantees crowds I can't argue with anyone being dubious about his motives but the shows I saw at Boardmasters and Brixton in 10 were diametrically opposed to going through the motions for the pension plan, absolutely blistering stuff. But obviously that was 3 years ago now & I've not seen any rumours of new material so yeah, the danger of it stagnating into some dance heritage curio is real enough. But still a guarantee of a bloody good night & if it was for Sunday then so much the better!

  8. im really keen to find out details about arcadia, block 9, nyc downlow. etc..for me they are the areas (and shangri-la) im interested in ..

talk of arcadia only being on til 2? is unfortunate

the main stage & other stage lineups are terrible & sadly the lineup for silver hayes at present is very uninspriing as well....

  9. q. how easy is it to enter into the camper van field (if travelling separately) to meet up with rest of the party who have arrived in the Camper van? would those in the camper need to meet you at security gate to show wristbands to get you in?

or can those in the camper collect extra wristbands when they arrive?

(it is wristbands to get into the camper van fields?)

    cheers
