Sidmouth Fringe Festival 2012

The Sidmouth Fringe Festival is a series of evening performances held at the Thorn Park Golf Park, near the coastal village of Salcombe Regis. The dates for 2012 are Saturday 4th to Thursday 9th August.

In 2012 the Sidmouth Fringe Festival will be a 'consolidation year' - so they are going back to their roots with informal evening musical sessions at 'McBuzzs Barn' (Thorn Park Golf Clubhouse).

Line-up

Saturday 4th: The Fallen Apples, Cloudi Lewis
Sunday 5th: The Red Hillbillies, Robin Nancarrow, The Diamond Family Archive
Tuesday 7th: Tom James, Matt Collinge, Adam Sweet
Wednesday 8th: Lori Campbell, The Wishbones, Tobias Ben Jacob, Tom James

Open sessions from 7.30pm each night.

More info

Held in some 30 acres of parkland and centred around McBuzz's Barn; a traditional oak-framed building extending into a large marquee. The event is still small it has gained in popularity in recent years with both artist's and audiences who enjoy the friendly atmosphere and laid-back 'local vibe' being described as "An intimate celebration of our musical heritage featuring some of the biggest and newest acts in world Folk Roots music."

The event coincides with the long established Sidmouth Folk Festival just down the hill, it is completely independent and aims to complement the traditionally-focused folk music and dance performances held down in the town.

There are locally-brewed beers from the Branscombe Vale Brewery (just down the road) and local cider served with a smile from McBuzz's Bar. Various food stalls cater for all tastes.

Camping

Cheap camping (with showers) is available in the adjacent field (The golf course!) at £10 per tent per night.

Shuttle bus

A regular shuttle bus runs from Thorn Park into Sidmouth with a late night service. So you can leave your car at Thorn Park, spend the day in the town at the Sidmouth Folk Festival and get the bus back for the Fringe evening events!
