The Scribbler's Weekender 2011


The Scribbler's Weekender is a weekend of music on Friday 17th and Saturday 18th June leading up to the main Picnic on Sunday 19th with live bands, cabaret, karaoke and DJs part of Stirling's charity weekender.

The Scribbler's Picnic music festival and family fun day is gearing up for the 10th anniversary event. The main event is being held on Sunday, June 19th at Stirling Rugby Club with 6 stages of music and a host of local performers taking part.

Scribbler's Picnic

A fun day out for all the family and as it is their 10th anniversary all under 10s will go free (accompanied by an adult). There will be a range of entertainment for all the family including family-friendly main stage, folk tent, two rock tents, acoustic cafe, beer tent, Scribbler's cafe, charity stalls, drumming workshops, Stirling Albion beat-the-goalie, ex professional and celebrity team Dukla Pumpherston football match, tug of war and more to be announced.

Line-up

Performers will include Heart Of Scotland Choir, Ballroom Gitz, The Rising (Bruce Springsteen tribute), Stageworx and Dance Connections. The new dance area will feature local DJs from Jelly Roll Soul and Phreak Unique.

Tickets

An adult ticket is priced at £6, teens aged 11-16 years £3. To celebrate the 10th anniversary all children aged 10 and under will be free (must be accompanied by an adult).

Accommodation

This event does not have camping but there are a number of hotels, hostels and guest houses in Stirling.

Charity

The Scribbler's Picnic has helped to raise more than £100,000 since it started as a small memorial concert in 2001, for local musician, teacher and writer Graham Whitelaw. Proceeds from the entire weekend will be donated to the Children's Hospice Association, Maggie's Centre Glasgow, Macmillan Cancer Support, Marie Curie Cancer Care and Strathcarron Hospice.
