THIS EVENT HAS BEEN CANCELLED.
Rhythms of the World has been cancelled.

A statement from the Directors of No Direction Home Festival says:
"Organisers of Rhythms of the World have announced they will not be holding a festival in 2013.

The festival was held in Hitchin Priory on Tilehouse Street in Hitchin between 2008 and 2012. Following an extremely wet weather year, the then-owners of the venue, Chartridge Conference Company, decided the event could no longer be held there. Trustees of the Rhythms of the World charity were informed of this decision in September 2012 and have been seeking an alternative venue ever since.

Chair of the Trustees, Nick Boggon, said: "2012 was not a good year for Rhythms of the World. The incredibly wet summer reduced attendance figures and we had to undertake additional work and costs to repair the Hitchin Priory grounds after the event. In addition, a number of key volunteers from our organising committee have chosen to step down in recent months.

"After a lot of searching, we have been unable to secure a site in time to host the festival this year. We recognise this will be hugely disappointing news for many people – volunteers, festival-goers, performers and those businesses that generously and repeatedly support the event – but we have run out of time to find a venue and organise a high quality festival of the size and type Hitchin has come to expect from us. However, we are working hard to secure a venue for next year and are extremely confident there will be a cracking festival in 2014."

Boggon continued: "It's onwards and upwards! We urge everyone to keep in touch and we'll announce our plans for 2014 as soon as we know them. We're confident we'll find a site soon and return with an even better festival. When we do, we'll need more volunteers than ever before, so if you’re interested in getting involved, it's never too early to contact our volunteer team via our website, Facebook or Twitter pages
."
====================
The 22nd Rhythms of the World festival will be held on Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th July, expect performances of music, dance (and a few surprises) across seven stages, as well as a Family Area, art displays and more.

Rhythms of the World Festival 2010
Chartridge Conference Company, who own Hitchin Priory, has decided that they are no longer able to hold festivals in the grounds and so Rhythms of the World Festival will move to a new as yet unannounced location.

The festival offers rock, pop, folk, reggae, jazz and classical music from the local area and around the world. An event for all ages and musical tastes, you'll be hard pushed to find a better value day out.
