With 2 concerts, a ceilidh and a Late Nite Bop on Friday, 4 concerts, a ceilidh and a Late Nite Bop on Saturday and 2 more concerts and a ceilidh on Sunday, this claims to be the friendliest folk festival in England, held at the beautiful village of Priddy, high on the magnificent Mendip Hills in sunny Somerset.

The 23rd edition of the festival takes place from Friday 11th until Sunday 13th July 2014.

Line-up

Latest additions are John Langan Band, New Rope String Band, Old Somerset Russets, Will Lang’s Silent Ceilidh, The Cleaves, Steve Payne, Maz O'Connor, Anna Massie & Mairearad Green, Bella Hardy, Dartmoor Pixies, Issy & David Emeney, Phillip Henry & Hannah Martin, Brooks Williams, and Three Cane Whale.

The first acts confirmed were Flook, Kan, The Youn'Uns, Miranda Sykes & Rex Preston, Steve Tilston Trio, Ushti Baba, Firepit collective, The Buffalo Gals Stampede, Gadarene, Baraka, Jez Hellard, The Drystones, and Yvette Staellens.

An early bird adult weekend ticket is priced at £62. A youth 11-16 years with camping ticket is priced at £31. Entry is free for children aged under 11 but they require a ticket. A weekend without camping ticket for adults is priced at £51. A youth 11-16 years ticket without camping is priced at £25.50.

Much of the entertainment outside of the main concert areas is free and parking is only £2. The early bird discount of nearly 10% is available until 30th April 2014.

Other entertainment

In addition there will be many smaller one hour concerts/meet the artist type events, as well as the usual Dance Festival with Morris, Maypole, Appalachian and more, Children's Festival offering Juggling, story telling, puppets, face painting and more, Sessions in the two pubs, singarounds and so on. There will be a Club Tent and open mic Sessions and Craft Fayre and Workshops with wood-turning, pottery, weaving, and a carefully selected mix of traders.

The festival will offer a varied and interesting range of food, real ales & scrumpy, on-site camping, large parking field.

Camping

There's a campsite adjacent to the village at a small extra charge for weekend ticket holders or individual concert ticket holders only.

Please note this festival has not been cancelled. There does tend to be some confusion between Priddy Sheep Fair and Priddy Folk Festival. Priddy Sheep Fair has been cancelled this year. This is a 650 year old fair held in August and involves sheep and horses, and very little music.
