New Forest Folk Festival 2016


The 5th New Forest Folk Festival takes place at Plaitford near Romsey which is on the edge of the New Forest from Wednesday 6th until Sunday 10th July 2016.

Line-up

Friday: Fotheringay, TradArrr, Kathryn Roberts & Sean Lakeman, The Velvet Doonicans, Beggars Bridge, Brian McNeill, Plaitford Common, Oxford Fiddle Group, and Lines & Squares Poets (Performing each day during changeovers).

Saturday: Show of Hands, Urban Folk Quartet, Roving Crows, Steve Daggett, Mad Dog Mcrea, Reg Meuross, Red Shoes, Southamton Ukulele Jam, and Lines & Squares Poets (Performing each day during changeovers).

Sunday: Feast of Fiddles, Ranagri & Tony Christie, Chris Leslie, Hawthornes, Megan & Joe Henwood, Jess Vincent, Matt Black, and Lines & Squares Poets (Performing each day during changeovers).

An adult weekend (4 day) ticket is priced a £90, tickets for children 5 - 15 years of age are half price and under 5 free. Camping is £5 per pitch per night for caravans, motor homes and tents. Family tickets starting from £87.50 Day tickets are priced at £35.

On Wednesday there's a BBQ and Morris Dancing courtesy of King Johns Morris Men and sessions and singarounds hosted by the Morris Men so don’t forget to bring your instruments if you fancy joining in. Thursday offers more singarounds, local artists performing (full list to follow) including Matt Black. Confirmed workshops include Poets and Pints, Jackie Broomfield (leathercraft), PJ Wright - Slide guitar workshop, Southampton Ukulele Jam, Reg Meuross - Songwriting, and Kings Johns Morris Men - Morris Dancing with more to follow.
