Nantwich Folk & Roots Festival 2003


This year, the weekend festival's celebration of Music and Dance, has moved its dates to the August Bank holiday weekend.

Playing at Nantwich Civic Hall on Friday are the Incredible String Band and Celtish and on Saturday, The Acoustic Strawbs with guests, The Queensberry Rules.

There'll be a free concert in the town square on Saturday afternoon with the Black Dog Molly Morris dancers; Raise the Dust; Dulaman; Middlewich Paddies; and Gromett (entertaining the kids).

And on Sunday afternoon at the Crown Hotel, there's to be a New Performers Showcase featuring five unsigned bands from the north west including Dulaman, The Moobs and Kirk McHilenny.
Also on Sunday afternoon, Nusantara will be performing Malaysia music and dance at the Civic Hall and in the evening at the same venue you can see Kate Rusby with special guest, Jackie Leven.

On Monday at the Civic Hall, there'll be an African dance workshop and performance with Bob Tiger.

Other confirmed acts performing over the weekend include: John Dowling, guitarists Pete Smith and John Buckley, and the Salt Town Poets.
