New for 2011

Thanks to an Arts Council England grant, the Keynsham Music Festival are putting on two new events on Saturday 2 July and hope that these will become regular features of the festival. Keynsham Town Centre will be a hive of activity with a day of internationally acclaimed street performers programmed by Lee Dowse of Crossant Neuf Circus. Expect an eclectic cocktail of eccentric cabaret, music, comic stupidity, magic and incredible acrobatic acts of daring taking place under the clock tower from 12 noon and suitable for all the family. Whilst this is going on in the town centre, there will be a new stage, Keynsham Sounds, in Keynsham Memorial Park from 1-6. Programmed by young Keynsham residents, this stage will showcase some of the best new young bands in the area as well as activities such as grassboarding, a Silent Rave at 9.30pm, UV facepainting and a fire show. And for very young residents, there is story telling and crafts down by the Bandstand from 2.30pm.

Other events

Keynsham is busy from 28 June with festival events taking place in the town. Highlights include an outdoor screening of Sing-along Mamma Mia! on Friday 1 July at 9.45pm in Keynsham Memorial Park. The screening will be free but you will be asked for a donation towards costs. BBQ and bar available from 8.30pm. In the event of rain the screening will take place in a large marquee.

Donation

The festival in the park is free but they do ask for a donation of around £2 per adult.

Accommodation

This event does not have camping but there are a number of hotels, hostels and guest houses in the area.
