Pama International

Glastonbury Festival 2007 Review

By Scott Williams | Published:

Live music on a Thursday at Glasto never used to be this good, Leftfield is busy and Pama International are putting on a superb show for us all to skank along to. What more do you need than ska, reggae, dub fusion over the wonderful vocal talents of Finny singing all the tunes from their album 'The Trojan Sessions' they have a guest with them guitarist Lynval Golding (The Specials) and he really adds depth to the tunes, I'm working up a sweat dancing to 'Pennywise Poundfool' and 'High and Dry' with some huge dub drops keeping the feet moving. Topped off with 'A Message To You Rudi' which was just fantastic! By then the band were in full flow rude boys top rankin'!

Leftfield sure has grown, there's screens and tent decor, and a bar and a PA that delivers every note of Pama's performance. The crowd starts to get rammed for The Beat but I think we've already had the best ska act of the night perform, and I head off into the city of tents. What a fantastic start to the festival.
