I Am Kloot (Other Stage, Friday)

Glastonbury Festival 2004 review

By eFestivals Newsroom | Published:

I am Kloot are unsung heroes, a band who have been around for years yet have never really gone anywhere. Well hopefully for the sake of British music and if there is any justice in this world of bland pop acts, this should change!

With Johnny Bamwell as their leading light they ooze passion, when he croons “There’s blood on your legs, I love you”, your taken to the beautiful depths of I am Kloot’s world – and you believe in everything they say.

I Am Kloot (Other Stage, Friday)

They are a band with an arsenal of epic anthems with have been very much left undisturbed and deserve a far wider audience. The new records played are well received and show even greater depth.

The best was left for last as the mighty ‘Life in a Day’ was cut short due to the band over running. With Johnny telling the fans “I’m not leaving” only to cut short his protest and venting his anger by throwing his guitar at those who had so cruelly pulled the plug. Shame on you Glastonbury, shame on you.

I am Kloot for headlining the Pyramid Stage next year, maybe not. But may they carry on, as British music needs a good hardworking and honest band. Go on buy an I am Kloot album – I promise you, you won’t regret it!
