Echo and the Bunnymen

Glastonbury Festival 2003 review

By eFestivals Newsroom | Published:

"Anybody here, from Newcastle or Gateshead? I'm sorry mate but ya city is shit" ... it could have been 1983, same old big mouth and very similar set to the ones of the 1980's. Greatest hits is the safest bet here for the Bunnymen: "Back of Love", "The Cutter" and "Seven Seas" need no rehearsing which is probably why they sounded so laboured and looked so bored, even the Somerset rain could not freshen them up.
All smiles at the end, the audience had Del La Soul on next, The Bunnymen had the pay cheque.
