Site report - Wednesday 21st June

Glastonbury Festival 2000

By eFestivals Newsroom | Published:

The gates opened at 9am, and the first people trickled in the gates with rain trickling down their necks. It rained mediumly hard for about an hour, but it's stopped now. We've just had the first rays of sunshine, which is drying the ground out nicely.

Despite an hour or so's rain yesterday, the site remains firm underfoot, and I remain confident that this is one year that shouldn't be remembered as a "Mudfest".

Most of the site already looks sorted, with just the final bits being put in place on one or two of the stages.

We can report that the on-site emergency services are geared up and ready, having had to call on the fire services when our campervan started blazing. But before they arrived, our own little domestic disaster had been dealt with by the swift action of those around us, who came running with extinguishers. To those of you that helped, our eternal thanks.
