Couldn't agree more with your [eFestivals - ed] comments on the increasing commercialization of the festival. We thoroughly enjoyed the festival this year, but, after a break of 4 or 5 years, it was really noticeable how much more commercial it had all become. In fact, it felt to me as if there was almost a split between the more commercial section nearer the Pyramid stage and the section closer to the Green Fields.

If Glastonbury goes down the commercial road, then, as you [eFestivals - ed] said, it will have to entice bigger bands, many of whom may not really be suitable. The spirit and experience of Glastonbury is unique and needs to be protected. If it becomes too much like other outdoor events, then people will not want to pay nearly £100 for the privilege.

The Glade was a brilliant idea, and I hope it will be continued. However, some of the other smaller dance 'stages' seemed far too mainstream to me. Still, horses for courses ! I am sure that it is very difficult to achieve the right balance, but, please, please, please, do not lose the very special Glastonbury ambience. It will happen if the commercialization gets out of hand, and once these things start it is very difficult to control them.

However, big thanks to all concerned - it is still a most remarkable experience !
