Glastonbury Festival 2000

By eFestivals Newsroom | Published:

Forget the mud of other years .. the worst thing about Glastonbury 2000 was the violence.

Any other festival, and you sort of expect it - but not at Pilton.

So what happened?

Well, nothing directly but close to us on 4 separate occassions we saw:

  • a Scouse group being attacked by some Welsh lads with a baseball bat (after stealing some beer)
  • a young couple having to put up with a Scouse lad pissing on their flare as they tried to watch the PSB
  • a guy ripping his shirt off, grabbing his own fllreand running into the middle of a group of lads shouting 'Come on your twats .. lets fucking go'
  • friends of ours getting bags nicked from their tent

Not what you need at a festival - and certainly not something I associated with Glastonbury until now. I love the festival - and hardly a day has gone by for the past 4 months when I havn't thought about it - but, unfortunately, this has left a real
sour taste.

Genuinely disappointed.
