Gillingham Festival 2006
Saturday 1st to Sunday 16th July 2006Gillingham town centre, Gillingham, Dorset, England MAP
Varying from free to averaging around £10/£12 (on the door) to £20 /£25 depending on the event
This is a co-ordinated arts and community event centred around a marquee adjacent to Gillingham's High Street and culminating in a Community weekend.
Over the two-week period there's a varied programme of events including circus workshops, a poetry evening, photographic displays, antique valuations, historical walks, an archaeological finds roadshow and a weekend of childrens activities on the 15th/16th.
Music and entertainment includes tribute bands, blues, folk and classical performances with musicians such as Martin Carthy and Norma Waterson, Chris Newman & Máire Ní Chathasaigh, and the New Rope String Band booked to play.
