A week of events and activities promoting multiculturalism, fighting racism and valuing diversity. The week starts with the Opening Respect Party at the Timepiece nightclub, featuring Worldbeat on 1st July. The rest of the programme is as follows:

Monday - Two free events: Respect Artist's Talk and Film with Jonnie Jonklaas Williams at the Exeter Phoenix Galleries at 6.30pm plus the avant-garde documentary made in 1934, Song of Ceylon at 7.30pm.
Tuesday - Respect Dance: Jenako by World Jungle - Ghanian dancers plus local dance company, Reflex at Exeter Phoenix. Tickets: £7 (£5 conc.)
Thursday - 5 Events: - Exeter Schools Songs of Peace & Freedom at the Great Hall, Exeter University. Tickets: £7 (£4 conc.).
- Nuala and the Alchemy Quartet at the North Bridge Inn. Free.
- Juicebox at the Amber Rooms. Free.
- The Global Centre AGM & Summer Party at The Global Centre, 17 St David's Hill, Exeter. Free.
- Kat Francois in Seven Times Me at The Exeter Phoenix. Tickets: £7 (£5 conc.) Followed by open mic. late bar.
Friday: Urban Nights at the Exeter Phoenix with 5 Rooms of Street Beats. Tickets: £12.50/£11 conc.(+BF)
Saturday: A free Family Funday at Exeter Phoenix followed by a World Music Extravaganza featuring the Mad Professor, Zambula, Molara, Kampec Delores, John Sterckx, Dragonsfly, Panacea, and Claude Bourbon. Tickets: £11 /£12.50.
Sunday - Respect Rocks at Exeter Phoenix from 7pm onwards. Tickets: £10 + BF. Featuring the following artists: Inme, Idiom, The King Blues, Kolo, Nozzle, Anonymous Tip, Zubina, Barbar Luck, Le Chat Noir, Letters to Leaders, Sixti and The Hub. Plus in the Voodoo Lounge: Talula, Supenik, Idiom, Red Paper Dragon, Sanguine, The Benefits, Leucosia, and Tom Lilliywhite.
Also on Sunday, the SameBoat Project are running an Open Workshop on the Quay, retracing the Slave Trade routes.

The Respect movement started in London two decades ago, and events now take place across the country. Their motto is: All different, All equal...Respect!
