A broad coalition working together to promote multicultural understanding and fight racism by celebrating diversity with the highlight being 10th July:
In the Auditorium: a special live MC/DJ set from Asian Dub Foundation Sound System; live dub band, Vibronics; The Collectiv; afro-latin percussion troupe, Banjani; Japanese power-and-precision drumming from Kagemusha Taiko and ethno-trance mixes from DJ Ambiessence.
In the Marquee: Celloman; Le Cod Afrique; Panacea; Street Heat and DJ Emmanuel.
In the bar galleries, listen out for DJ Radio Bush Telegraph, The Iconoclast and guests. There will be free events all day on Saturday including entertainment in the Marquee and grounds, from noon until 5pm, with DJ Emmanuel(Worldbeat); junk band, Junked Up Newt; pan steel band, Real Steel; a Respect poet; rapper, Dave Marrow and reggae band, Foundation Crew. There will also be FREE ALL DAY workshops, Fair Trade, food of the world, stalls and displays - all promoting multicultural understanding!
The evening events will be the highlight of a week of other Exeter Respect activities, including more music, film and comedy which will be taking place all over the city.
It's also going to be part of Exeter's Phoenix Arts Centre's Midsummer Nights Festival.
