Initially developed from an annual short summer series of concerts given by the Scottish Chamber Orchestra, the festival was subsequently independently founded in 2004 and is housed in various picturesque towns throughout Scotland's East Neuk of Fife.
The arts and music event concentrates mainly on classical but also offers world, jazz, folk and electronica. In addition films, exhibitions, art installations, literature events, guided walks, and unusual concert venues – Scotland’s Secret Bunker, a Hardened Aircraft Shelter, a potato barn, a pitch dark scout hut and a cave to name just a few!
