The Coastline Bluegrass Festival takes place from Friday 5th until Sunday 7th June 2009 at Plas Uchaf Farm, near Llandudno in Wales. The festival features British and European Bluegrass bands performing at concerts; plus Appalacian dancing, picking sessions, open mic, and instrumental workshops. The campsite opens on Thursday afternoon.
Artists confirmed for 2009 include 4 Wheel Drive, The toy Hearts, Chill Until Blue, Jaywalkers, Feet First, and Wicked Soles.
The weekend timetable is roughly as follows:
The music starts on Friday evening with a 'Welcome Concert' at around 8pm.
On Saturday morning there are various instrumental workshops which are likely to include: Bluegrass banjo; guitar; mandolin; bass; fiddle; and dobro.
Starting at 2pm, on Saturday afternoon, there's Appalachian Dance and 'Old Time' dancing music with an open Mic session at 3pm.
At 7-30pm on Saturday evening, there's another concert, and on Sunday, a vocal/band workshop starts at 11am with a concert/workshop at 12.30pm.
Camping is available on site (it's £6 to stay an extra night) and there's food, real ale and a BBQ.
