Cleethorpes Folk Festival - CANCELLED 2008

Cleethorpes Folk Festival is a weekend celebration of folk music, song and dance with workshops and dance sessions. Starting on Friday night at 8pm with a ceilidh, it runs through to beyond midnight on Bank Holiday Monday.

In 2008 the festival will return to its roots on 'The Pier' for part of the weekend. The main venue will be the Memorial Hall, plus old favourites such as Willy's Pub and the RAFA Club. Other venues are being arranged.

Artists booked so far include: Patrick Street, Chris While & Julie Matthews, Misé, Carmina, John Conolly, Dave Sealey, Simon Mayor & Hilary James, Gordon Tyrrall, Brian Peters, Pete Smith. For further details, click here.

Throughout the weekend there's Morris dancing, and other dance teams, dance teams confirmed so far include Wakefield Morris, Dukes Dandy, Crook Morris, Bootleggers, Grimsby Morris Men, and Barley Break. For younger audiences there's a Junior Folk Club, and face painting and sandcastle building.

The festival also has real ale, food (available from breakfast until late evening), craft and music stalls. Camping is available on a secure festival campsite with cars parked in a separate car park next door (free parking for campers).
