Throughout three weeks of entertainment the festival aims to bring great art to Brighton, and to harness the creative energy of the city to make great new art of its own.
It is said to attract an audience of over 500,000 and is a cultural extravaganza with performances taking place at venues all around the city including parks, churches, arts centres, and the beach.
