Brighton Festival 2004

Now England's largest arts festival, Brighton Festival aims to combine the best in international dance, theatre, music, literature and street arts. It is said to attract an audience of over 300,000 and is a cultural extravaganza with performances taking place at venues all around the city including parks, churches, arts centres, and the beach.

Music from Asian Dub Foundation, Plaid and several others takes place at Brighton Dome's concert hall. There's lots of street performance around too plus films, exhibitions and children's events.

Watch out for Carnival Encounter, a weekend of percussion, dance, visual workshops and live events from 22nd-23rd May. There will be a free parade from 6pm -11pm on Saturday night filling Brighton with parading bands who will end up on a stage on Brighton's seafront. Good fun!
