Liverpool's Brazilica Festival takes place from Friday 11th until Saturday 19th July in various city centre locations.

Programme

A week-long festival celebrating the vibrant culture of Brazil with over twenty events taking place at venues across the city including the annual Carnival Ball and Carnival Queen Competition, Brazilian film screenings, carnival art exhibitions and more. 

Carnival day itself takes place on Saturday 19th July in Williamson Square. The carnival parade will take place in the evening and will include samba groups from countries from across the globe, and showcasing the best Brazilian bands, surrounded by Brazilian street food stalls, caipirinha bars and more.

Line-up

Authentic Brazilian musicians will perform Williamson Square throughout the day. There will also be a second stage featuring vibrant music and dance performances.

The main carnival day on Saturday 19th July will offer music and dance from 14 samba bands, Paraiso School of Samba, Liverpool Samba School, Sambatuc Paris, London School of Samba, Republic of Swing and Sambafriq, Karamba Samba, Nottingham School of Samba, Oya Batucada, Batala Liverpool, Maracatudo Mafua, Manchester School of Samba, Samba Bandits, Arco Iris and Hull School of Samba.

The main stage at Williamson Square, will showcase Da Lata, Ziriguidum with Fabio Allman, Afro Samba, Sambatuc, DJ Fabio Bahia, and Marissa.

There will also be events taking place throughout the day and night throughout the city, celebrating the very best of Brazilian culture. The Latin American food marketplace at Williamson Square will offer traditional Latin American food. The Kazimier Garden will also be serving up great music and food at their Brazilian Barbeque from 2pm.

Brazilica Street Soccer Festival will name the winner of the Brazilica Futsal Finals after the best 3-a–side football teams compete against each other in the final.

The Everton in the Community Stage, will also be bringing more music close to the action from 12-6pm on Church Street, which includes carnival DJ’s and performances form Oya Batucada and Maracatudo Mafua.

Finally, closing this year’s Brazilica, The Kazimier will host the carnival after party on 19 July from 10pm. With carnival DJ’s and a special guest DJ set from Patrick Forge, the samba and Latin- House vibes are set to keep crowds partying until 3am.

Tickets

This isn't a ticketed event as the carnival/parade and workshops are all FREE.  Although the afterparty on Saturday night will have an entry fee.

Accommodation

The festival offers no accommodation at the event. There are plenty of accommodation options available in the city.
