Beccles Carnival 2008
Friday 18th to Sunday 20th July 2008various venues: Beacon Field, The Quay and around the town generally in Beccles, Suffolk, NR34 9BH, England MAP
£7.50 advance - adult tickets Friday/Saturday; £5 - adults Sunday(under 12 free Sunday only)
Beccles Carnival is expected to take place from 18th - 20th July, and will present all the usual features of a traditional community carnival, such as a Parade (one for floats and the Carnival Queen and another for Teddy Bears), Dog Show, It's A Knockout competition, fancy dress and firework display.
Beccles carnival is open from midday until late afternoon when the Quay closes for ticketed events which take place each evening until around midnight, at the end of the Parade Route in the Main Arena on The Quay.
Gigs are expected to feature national as well as local artists plus a Battle of the Bands. Some of the acts for the music programme for ticketed events has been announced - Friday (Summer Ska2): Neville Staples, Last Orders, Monkey Spanner, SKA-TA-Brain, and Dumpster Pop.
Saturday night (Summer Blues): The Blues Bros, Tosh and the Moonlighters, One Member Short, and Fail in Duty .
Sunday night (Summer Nights) Austin Beats, Remold, Palendrome, and The Beach.
The last night's music will be interrupted by a Firework Display (subject to weather and lighting - best viewed from the Beacon Field) at 9.45pm, but rounded off with more music.
It is expected that all events will be finished by 11.30pm each evening.
Tickets are priced at £7.50 per person advance ticket or £10.00 on night for Friday and Saturday. Sunday admission is £5.00 (with accompanied children under 12 free on Sunday only). To buy tickets click here.
Travelling there by Bus There are discounts available if you are travelling by local bus and show your carnival gig ticket.
Festival goers are not permitted to bring alcohol onto the site, they are not allowed to leave the site with alcohol purchased onsite either.
