Beat-Herder 2009


The three day Beat-Herder festival takes place in Gisburn, Lancashire, with the dates for this year confirmed as Friday 3rd until Sunday 5th July. The festival is independently funded and has no involvement in corporate organisations, nor does it receive any sponsorship.

Expect there to be eight stages or musical areas these will include The Beat-Herder Stage, Toiltrees the dance area, Stumblefunk Soundsystem, Trailer Trash, The Bushrocker Family HiFi, The Beat-Herder & District Working Men's Social Club, and The Lazy Meadow & Smoky Tentacles Shisha Lounge.

The line-up includes Reverend & The Makers, Beardyman, Dub Pistols, The Whip, Filthy Dukes, The Young Punx, The Voodoo Trombone Quartet, Loonaloop, Biscuithead and the Biscuit Badgers, The Monkey Wrenchers, Celt Islam, Utah Saints, Toilsoundsystem DJ's, Sugarbeat Club, Punks Jump UP, 808 State DJs, James Yuill, Men In Masks, Krysko, DJMD, The Mashup Corporation, 2Skank2 Soundsystem, and more. The Toiltree will play host to A Monstrous Psychedelic Bubble presented by GAZ COBAIN ( FSOL/ the Amorphous Androgynous ) for 3 hours on Saturday.

The festival is split into five main areas combining live music, DJ sets and creative workshops. There will also be the Pixie Pictures Cinema, contemporary art by Paul Hitchen @ Liber8, a live art and design jam, face painting, and tribal belly dancing. Plus food, stalls and more.

Tickets are on sale priced at £60 for the three days including camping, tickets for children under 12 are priced at £5, and campervan tickets are £10.

Important - The festival gates will open at 12.00 midday on Friday. For health and safety reasons no one will be allowed on site before then.
