  1. Hi all,

I'd be interested to hear from anyone who has used one of the executive suites at the Nottingham arena.

I'm looking at paying for one for someone's birthday (all other tickets have sold out) but not sure what the view would be like.

I don't want to pay for one if the height of them makes the performer look like an ant on stage.

I've tried googling for reviews but can't find any!

Any feed back from someone who has used one would be appreciated!

  2. afaik they've played the avalon or some such stage for at least the last two years. It would surprise me if they weren't there, somewhere, this year again.

I'll definitely keep my eyes open for them.

  3. just spent 8 hours non stop trying to get through in all different ways

finally get through on the 0115 number and im told my registration number isnt valid so he speaks to his supervisor who double checks and its true. its not valid and there is no way around it

no idea why, i only registered this january and used it to get my ticket for 09 i thought it was valid for 3 years?

i just feel like crying, genuinely crying.

has this happened to anyone else?

  4. Deposit only until next month. Was going to pay, but somehow spent the cash on a Gambian Pouched Rat and new giant cage - and also going on holiday at the end of the month - so didn't want to kill my bank account so soon after payday.

  5. Whilst I took a lot of spirits last year, I also never had a can out of my hand!

That would be way to expensive buying on site - so this year I'm going to do what I did last. I borrowed a little collapseable dolly truck thingy. Carried all the beer no problem, and surprisingly didn't get stolen - so took all my gear back out with me.

  6. Used chrome - no luck. Ended up getting them via ie8.

As bagpuss says, unless they coded the site to give preference to specific identified browsers (very very unlikely), it made no difference what browser you used *.

*unless you used an ancient computer that struggled with ie - Chrome might have a lighter resource footprint.

  7. That was a bit nail biting. Whenever I got to the reg number page, my wifes reg would error. After trying this 3 times I crossed my fingers and hoped her email was logged in on the other PC. It was, and a quick search revealed she had 2 reg numbers (no idea why!)

The second one worked, and now i'm paid .

One bit of advice: I found the whole waiting in the queue bit a lie, I think it's just a JS function which auto-refreshes page every 20s or so to reduce load on server (rather than people refreshing every few seconds).

Going to seetickets.com/g2010/index.asp I found that if I did get to the reg number bit, I'd more often than not bypass the queue page (which is why i think it's not really a queue).

  8. There have always been queues when I've been past it. To be honest, I think they should move it away from the Jazz world stage (or at least further away from the stage) - because at points, the brothers drinkers and queues can stretch right into the crowd trying to watch performers on stage.

  9. Ahah I Love it.

Many posts in reply actually seem to have purposefully misinterpreted what LRW was saying.

He isn't saying *all* old-timers are past it. He's pointing to the winging lot, who year after year hit these forums post-festival crying and moaning, and then go again the next year.

He’s simply saying Glastonbury is a societal mirror, and on the whole, the youth drive societal change between generations. That going to more festivals doesn’t give your opinion any more validity – perhaps it gives it less, as you are too close to the source material and so have a restricted view (generally pointing backwards and filtered through cloudy lenses).

Glastonbury’s roots were post 60’s change. The Pranksters and such folk from those times would be thriving on the change and mixing it up.

Whilst I agree with Sifi about core ideals remaining, I do sometimes have to remind myself to stop being such a narrow minded c**t in regards to festival change – and then it’s all good again.
