The first acts have been announced for Loopallu , which takes place this year at the new location of Ullapool Pier, Ross and Cromarty, in Scotland, on Friday 29th and Saturday 30th September. It's also announced that this will be its final year.

Heading the line-up are Friday headliners The View who will celebrate the 10th anniversary of their debut album ‘Hats Off To The Buskers’ by playing it in full, along with Saturday night's headliners of Glasvegas. also, to send the festival out with a bang, the very last act to play on Saturday night will be The Vatersay Boys.

There's also Hunter and The Bear who have just released the debut album, Turin Brakes with their only Scottish festival this summer, punk from The Rezillos, a visit from The Pigeon Detectives, up & coming Tide Lines, and Callum Beattie.

For newer acts there's Tyneside's Sam Fender, Edinburgh's Hamish Hawk, as well as The Howl and The Hum, and Willie Campbell & the Tumbling Souls.

In association with Ullapool Book Festival over the years Loopallu has brought some incredible names from the literary world, and to end in style there's the legendary Ian Rankin, children's favourite Mairi Hedderwick, and award winning Malachy Tallack.

The fringe will play host to Rhythmnreel, Little Mammoths, Ruairidh Maclean, Sons of the Soil, Will & the Wild Horse, Vic Galloway and Davy & the Hosebeast.

The Loopallu team would like to say:  a big thank you to all who have come over the years, your support and enthusiasm made the event what it was and what it is. Loopallu may come back in the future in a different guise, but for now lets have a party one last time.
