Scouting For Girls will be headlining EmFest next month. The village festival will be held in memory of Emma Gibson and put together by a group of volunteers from e to help raise money for the British Heart Foundation on Friday 27th May 2016 at Long Hanborough playing fields.

Emma Gibson died last February after suffering a heart attack at the age of 43. Shortly before Emma passed away, she joked with her friend Nicky about asking her favourite band, Scouting for Girls, to play a gig in their village.

Now a group of Emma’s friends have joined together to make her dream come true . Roy Stride, Scouting for Girls frontman said, "We are delighted to be headlining EmFest in Long Hanborough to raise money for the British Heart Foundation.

"EmFest is being held in memory of one of our fans, Emma, who passed away from a heart attack last year. Sadly, heart disease can affect anyone at any time in their lives. We’re proud to join the BHF’s fight for every heartbeat.

"We would like to thank the EmFest committee for inviting us to be involved in their amazing fundraiser. We’re really looking forward to putting on a great show for you all!"

Tickets are priced at £25 and available now by emailing EmFestSFG@gmail.com or by calling 079494 90324.

Coronary heart disease remains the UK’s single biggest killer taking 70,000 people away from their families each year. Through the public’s generosity, the BHF will fund half a billion pounds of new research over the next five years which will be central to discovering vital treatments for people living with heart and circulatory conditions.

The BHF urgently needs more people to organise their own unique events like EmFest and Raise Funds Your Way to help fight heart disease. Download a free fundraising pack by visiting www.bhf.org.uk/yourway.

Clare Cassidy, BHF Head of Community Fundraising in the South, said, "We’re delighted to have Scouting for Girls on board to support the BHF at EmFest and are incredibly grateful to the organisers for their enormous generosity. It promises to be an incredible event raising funds and awareness in the fight against heart disease."
