Richard Ashcroft to headline Scarborough Fair

Richard Ashcroft joins Everything Everything, and Lianne La Havas as one of the headliners at Scarborough Fair Festival which is set to take place overlooking Cayton Bay in Scarborough, Yorkshire From Friday 27th to Sunday 29th May 2016 at Redcliffe Farm.

They join Public Service Broadcasting, Submotion Orchestra, Clare Teal, Billy Bragg, I Am Kloot, Eliza & Martin Carthy, Lau, Field Music, Teleman, Dave Beer, Craig Charles, Eliza Shaddad, Back 2 Basics, Sink The Pink.

Scarborough Fair will offer festival goers an eclectic mix of pop, folk, funk, jazz and dance music, as well as comedy, cinema and a Talks Tent.

Plus takeovers by Moshi Moshi & Oddchild Music, an art programme curated by Alice sharp, Clare Teal presents Little Big Bands, Comedy from Ten Foot Giant, film site by Michael Fassbender's DMC, new work from the Stephen Joseph Treatre, spoken word from Tongue Fu, and talks tents cuated by JS Rafaeli. In addition, BBC regular Edith Bowman will be hosting Michael Fassbender’s DMC film site.

Also involved are Sir Ben Kingsley, and Craig Charles.

Arts entertainment will include a sculpture trail, installations, out door cinema and more. There will also be a designated Kids Area with learning activities and Cayton Bay will offer surfing experiences for festival goers.

Early bird tickets finish tomorrow 29 January 2016. Early bird tickets are priced at £101, early bird teen (13-17 years) tickets are priced at £50.50, early bird child (6-12 years) tickets are priced a £25.20, with young children (aged 5 years and under) able to attend for free.

A key location on the new Tour de Yorkshire cycle race, Scarborough has always been a popular seaside destination and in 2016 will fill a gap on the festival map by welcoming up to 8,000 and music fans to its various stages.
