The future themed Bestival held at Robin Hill Country Park on the Isle of Wight, returns this year from Thursday 8th until Sunday 11th September 2016 has announced a news stage, the Spaceport which will host a stellar line-up of dance DJs, including headliners Diplo, Carl Cox with a career-spanning House Classics set, and festival regular Fatboy Slim.

The new stage will feature a rocket, towering more than 20 metres high, created by Lite Alt Design’s Paul Normandale, the man behind shows for the likes of the Chemical Brothers, Coldplay and the Tate Modern Turbine Hall. The new attraction looks to be an evolution of The Port, which loses its antiquated maritime ship this year, and will evolve into a new kind of universal berth.

The Spaceport’s full line-up will be announced very soon, plus there is one more main stage headliner, and more music, madness and mayhem to unveil. The future really is here. Join us..

Festival organiser Rob da Bank looks to the future saying, "Be under no illusions my futuristic friends; this stage is going to blow your mind and take you interstellar like no other stage before."This is The Future of the dance. HMS Bestival, our trusty old ship, has sunk or otherwise been sucked down a Bermuda Triangle shaped whirlpool, and thus we are reinventing Robin Hill’s sacred rave space once more with a spaceship the likes Planet Earth has never witnessed.

"A veritable space oddity standing seven storeys high The Spaceport will beam out music day and night, lit by lasers with giant astronauts floating across the sky. Prepare for take-off, take your protein pills and put your helmet on.

"See you at The Spaceport in t-minus 196 days and counting…
"

The Cure will headline Saturday night, Major Lazer top Friday night’s main stage and Hot Chip headline Thursday night in the Big Top.
