The first acts have been confirmed for next year's 36th annual Fairport's Cropredy Convention the annual shindig hosted by Fairport Convention.

The festival will host British band Gryphon who last toured in the 1970s, plus Bootleg Beatles, Ralph McTell celebrating almost 50 years on the road, Sound of the Sirens, Steeleye Span return to Cropredy for the first time in ten years with a new live show, Hayseed Dixie, and Wille and The Bandits.

Also confirmed is that, as is traditional, Fairport Convention will play on Thursday to open the festival and, take the stage again for their headlining set on Saturday night, and as always, Richard Digance will open festivities on the Saturday. Cropredy will also present a set by the winner of the BBC Radio 2 Young Folk Award. The rest of the line-up, including the Thursday and Friday headliners, will be announced early in2016.

The annual festival of folk and rock music is held on the edge of the village of Cropredy, and run by Fairport Convention. This year's 35th anniversary of the festival will take place from Thursday 11th to Saturday 13th August 2016.

The first 800 pre-Xmas orders will receive a special Fairport Christmas Card signed by the band themselves! The first 2000 ticket orders will receive a souvenir Cropredy car sticker.

A three-day (Thurs, Fri, Sat) ticket is priced at £120 with 2 day (Frid/Sat) and 1 day (Sat) tickets going on sale on 1 February.

Children under 12 years old are admitted free provided they have a free ticket and are accompanied by an adult ticket holder.

Three-day camping costs £45 per vehicle. Motorcyclists, cyclists and pedestrians camp free of charge.

Camping is charged per vehicle (up to five occupants). For convenience and security, tents are erected next to the camping party's vehicle.
