The Coral are to headline Liverpool Sound City next year held multiple venues and spaces in the city's Docklands.

Performing in their hometown city for the first time in 5 years, they will top the bill on Sunday 29th May. Lead singer James Skelly said, "Sound City is a great festival and the setting is just incredible. We're really looking forward to the headline slot and being back in Liverpool. It’s going to be a very special show."

Sound City CEO Dave Pichilingi added, "The Coral have always been on our wish list and we are absolutely delighted they have chosen Sound City for their return. We're expecting some big scenes when they close the Atlantic Stage on Sunday night, facing out across the water to their Wirral home. They are part of the DNA of this city and occupy a very special place in our hearts. It's going to be a landmark show and one not to miss."

They are the first music act confirmed for the festival now in it's 9th year held from Friday 27th to Sunday 29th May 2016. Sound City will be announcing more acts and headliners in the coming weeks.

Tickets for Sound City 2016 will go on sale 9am on Friday 27th November and eFestivals will have links to buy them then.
