Florence + The Machine, and Nas will be the first to headline Bestival Toronto in Canada

Bestival will import their tradition of electronic dance music, alternative rock and dressed-up crowds to the Canadian pop festival market with the arrival on Hanlan’s Point Beach in the Toronto Islands — a park area in Lake Ontario, just offshore from the city’s downtown, and is expected to happen on Friday 12th and Saturday 13th June 2015.

The Toronto Islands (formerly known as Island of Hiawatha and is also known as Menecing) are a chain of small islands in the city of Toronto, Ontario.

Also confirmed for the inaugural edition are Flume, Caribou, SBTRKT (DJ Set), Flosstradamus, Robin Schulz, Jamie Jones, Zhu, Clean Bandit, Wavves, Jamie XX, Rudimental (DJ Set), Owen Pallett, Keys N Krates, Born Ruffians, Bakermat, Omar Souleyman, Cashmere Cat, GrandTheft, Justin Martin, Dusky, Skream, Robert DeLong, Tennis, Cassy, Shamir, Lane 8, Nathan Barato, Matoma, Museum Of Love, Hunter Siegel, Shaun Frank, Kill Them With Colour, Humans, Tops, Whilk and Misky, Tei Shi, River Tiber, Harrison, and Coleman Hell with more to be announced.

Bestival curator Rob da Bank said, "To say that we're excited at Bestival HQ about launching our very first Bestival outside of the UK is a serious understatement. We've spent 12 years working up to this moment and are so proud to be teaming up with Toronto to launch the good ship that is Bestival overseas. I'm also very proud of our first heavy hitting line-up with typically diverse headliners, Florence and The Machine and Nas! Two amazing talents. We are also announcing; the best leftfield acts around with Caribou and Omar Souleyman, electronic music from Jamie xx and Flosstradamus. I really hope you can join us on the ferry to Toronto Island in June. See you on the beach!"

Ticket prices have not yet been announced and go on general sale on Thursday 5th March, and eFestivals will have links to buy them then.
