Alt-Fest in trouble?

According to a number of reports from different places, everything seems to indicate that Alt-Fest will not be going ahead, with tickets no longer available to buy online.

We have been told to expect an official statement from the event shortly. The event is slated to run from Friday 15th to Sunday 17th August 2014 at Boughton House, in Kettering, Northamptonshire.

We have not got a statement from the PR agency the festival was using about the status of the fest, though they have given us a statement that they're no longer acting for the fest. Make of that what you will.

The event, which ran a Kickstarter campaign last year and raised over £60,000 towards the festival, is to feature over 130 acts across the metal, rock, goth, industrial, steampunk and more genres.

The line-up includes UK festival exclusive appearances by Marilyn Manson, Amen, Arch Enemy, Combichrist, Agonize, Fields of the Nephlim, Fintroll,Mesh, Other Day, Peter Murphy, Satyricon, She Past Away, Soror Dolorosa, Theatre of Hate, The Cult, and Whispers In The Shadow.

Headliner Marilyn Manson has changed the status of the Facebook page, (here), for his headline date in a fortnight to cancelled.

One of the exclusive acts Combichrist issued a statement on Facebook, (here), saying, "We received notice this morning that the Alt-Fest Festival in Kettering, UK booked for the weekend of August 15-17, has been cancelled. As of now the organizers of the event haven't made an official announcement but unless there is a massive cabal afoot, we will believe the word we received from our agency. So we are sad to report to you that we won't be appearing in the UK this Summer..."

eFestivals advises ticket holders to wait for the official statement and then contact their point of purchase for a refund.
