Coldplay to headline Big Weekend in Glasgow

Coldplay are the first headlining act to be announced for BBC Radio 1's 11th annual free Big Weekend will take place in Glasgow Green, Glasgow, in Scotland taking place over three days from Friday 23rd until Sunday 25th May 2014.

They join Pharrell Williams, The 1975, Rita Ora an Paolo Nutini on the line-up that's free for 60,000 music fans.

The first acts announced for Friday, the dance evening at George Square for 14,000 over 18s only were Annie Mac, Pete Tong, Zane Lowe, and Danny Howard.

Tickets will be free and are obtained through a lottery. There is no charge for the concert itself, but a handling fee per ticket will be applied to help cover all associated ticket handling costs. The majority of the tickets for BBC Radio 1's Big Weekend 2014 are being allocated to people living in Lanarkshire and the surrounding boroughs.
