BBC Radio 1's Big Weekend is a music festival run by BBC Radio 1, who will hold their annual free music festival for the first time at Glasgow Green, in Glasgow, Scotland. This year the free festival will take place over three days from Friday 23rd until Sunday 25th May 2014.

This event is run in a different location within the United Kingdom each time. It is the biggest free live music event in the UK and always includes a host of new artists.

Line-up

Tiësto, Coldplay, and Kety Perry, will headline, plus Kasabian, Calvin Harris, One Direction, Ed Sheeran, Bastille, Lily Allen, Jake Bugg, Kings of Leon, Tinie Tempah, John Newman, The Vamps, Martin Garrix, Pharrell, Paolo Nutini, The 1975, Rita Ora, Example, Clean Bandit, Lorde, Bombay Bicycle Club, Katy B, Twin Atlantic, Wilkinson, The Kooks, Sub Focus, You Me At Six, London Grammar, Sam Smith, Chvrches, Klaxons, and Gorgon City, Annie Mac, Pete Tong, Zane Lowe, and Danny Howard.

Latest additions are Catfish & The Bottlemen, Honeyblood, XO, Darlia, ALX, Kari, Lyger, Sega Bodega, Coasts, Model Aeroplanes, Racing Glaciers, Indiana, Little Shoes Big Voice, Rhodes, Shy Nature, Leon Else, MDNGHT, Royal Blood, Baby Strange, Juce, Rosie Lowe, and Algernon Doll.

More headline artists and a full line-up of international and UK artists, bands and DJs will be confirmed in the coming months.

Tickets

Tickets have all gone. Tickets were free and can be obtained through a lottery. There was no charge for the concert itself, but a handling fee per ticket will be applied to help cover all associated ticket handling costs. The majority of the tickets for BBC Radio 1's Big Weekend 2014 were allocated to people living in Glasgow and the surrounding boroughs.

On Friday night Radio 1 will be getting the Big Weekend party started by broadcasting live from George Square in Glasgow.

Saturday and Sunday will be similar to previous Big Weekend events, with a main stage, an In New Music We Trust tent and a BBC Introducing stage at Glasgow Green.
