Seth Lakeman, Kathryn Tickell & The SideThe Elizabethan Session, and Josienne Clarke and Ben Walker have been announced for this summer's Folk by the Oak.

The Elizabethan Session is a very special project commissioned by Folk by the Oak and English Folk Dance and Song Society (EFDSS). This March Martin Simpson, Nancy Kerr, Jim Moray, Bella Hardy, John Smith, Hannah James, Rachel Newton, and early music specialist Emily Askew will live and work together for one week at a rural retreat to create new music that has a resonance and relevance to the Elizabethan era.

They will then present a set of this new music at the one day folk festival for 5,000, now in its seventh year, and set in the grounds of Hatfield House in Hertfordshire happening on Sunday 20th July 2014.

There are still three more acts to be announced for the main stage, as well as up and coming acts for the Folk Rising Acorn Stage.
