Early bird tickets are now on sale for The Green Gathering held from Thursday 31st July until Sunday 3rd August 2014 and returning for a fourth year to Piercefield Park of Chepstow, in Monmouthshire offering up and coming bands as well as old festival favourites with swing, funk, folk, punk, dance, disco, ska, klezmer, reggae, indie, acid-rock and northern soul .

The first acts confirmed are Tarantism, Tracey Curtis, Tetchi, and The Electric Brains. Also environmentalist Jeremy Leggett will talk in the Speakers' Forum, with much more yet to be announced.

Landscaped grounds high above the Wye Valley offer views of the Severn estuary and bridges; the ruins of neoclassical Piercefield House provide an atmospheric backdrop; and the rolling parkland of the site, encircled by woods, has ample space for camping.

The Green Gathering promotes and platforms sustainable lifestyles through combining education with entertainment.

GG is a place to relax, make friends and listen to music - but it's also so much more than that. It's a community and an education. It's about providing food, energy, health and shelter without degrading the planet. It's about future families.

Early bird tickets are priced at £70 (plus £5 booking fee plus vehicle passes).

Green Gathering attracts a broad range of people of different ages and backgrounds. under 11s can come for free and 11-15s tickets are discounted, it's popular with families too with a huge, adventurous Kid's Zone incorporating a toddler area, teens tent, gardens, crafts, rides, acting & action.

Held in 'Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty', the event also offers a chance to learn traditional skills in the Craft area and to explore pathways to green futures with Permaculture and Transition groups. Veteran activists will be on hand to share information and tactics in the Campaigns field, while in the Speakers' Forum, experts and mavericks present a huge range of topics for debate.

The Green Gathering is entirely off-grid; all stages are 100% powered by sun, wind and people. Pioneers in solar engineering and LED lighting are on hand to teach what they know. There's an Assisted Camping area, solar and wood-fired showers, communal campfires and wooded glades where healers offer massage and mysticism.

The Green Gathering's own West Country cider and ale bar provides tipples to whet the whistle at very reasonable prices.

It's a festival that's fun, but it goes far beyond hedonism.
