Reading and Leeds add more alternative acts

and unveil a new Off The Wall area

More of the line-up has been announced for the Alternative Stage and new Off The Wall area at next month's Reading & Leeds Festivals happening over the bank holiday weekend, from Friday 23rd to Sunday 25th August.

Added to the Alternative Stage line-up at both events are Judah Friedlander, Lee Nelson, Holly Walsh, Dead Poets, The Hardy Bucks, and at Leeds only Massive Horse.

Transgressive Records will also be hosting an Alternative Stage Takeover featuring Fuck Buttons at both sites, Jon Hopkins, James Holden, Snakehips, Blaenavon, and Thumpers at Leeds, with Karma Kid at Reading, London Grammar, Foals (DJ set)Pulled Apart By Horses (DJ Set) at Leeds, Jen Long at Reading, and at both sites Rockfeedback DJs, Bless DJs, and of course the Transgressive Records DJs.

Also confirmed for both sites is a new interactive area - Off The Wall. Which organisers say will be "guaranteed to amuse, shock and entertain, festival goers will be able to get involved with a whole variety of things including cabaret, ping pong, DJs, immersive plays, a human car wash disco and even star in their own video production."

At Leeds this area will host The Mess, Ping Pong Parlour, The Pop Up Parlour, Pins & Needles – Scoop!, Bootworks, Disco Shed, and Leeds Met presents The Mothership and The Wagon. Whilst at the Reading site the new area is home to Ping Pong Thunder Dome, Les Enfants Terribles, VideopiaRood Wallen Photo Booth, The Parlour, The Human Carwash Disco,and Dr Frankenstein's Travelling Freak Show.

Reading Festival takes place at Little Johns Farm, Richfield Avenue, Reading, Berkshire, and Leeds Festival takes place at Bramham Park, Leeds, West Yorkshire.

Weekend tickets are priced at £202.50, with day tickets priced at £90.

Early entry tickets enabling festival goers to get into the site on the Wednesday are priced at £15, car park passes £5, with campervan passes priced at £60, and lockers £15.

Tickets can also be secured with a £67.50 deposit. The last day you can participate in the scheme will be on Friday 31 May.

Tickets are limited to a maximum of four per person and per credit card for those booking online. U16s (15 & under) must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

Children under 13 (12 and under) are admitted free but MUST be accompanied by a ticket holding adult. Please note there is no separate children's area at this event, and eFestivals considers this an event not really suitable for small children.
