The Stone Roses are the first act to be announced for next summer's Isle of Wight Festival.

The Stone Roses
Ian Brown and co. will headline the Main Stage on Friday 14th June, and this will be the band's only UK festival appearance in 2013.

Last year saw the four-piece return with a summer of sold out shows, the Manchester band mesmerised one million fans across Europe and Asia. Now, the classic line-up of Ian Brown, John Squire, Mani (aka Gary Mounfield) and Reni (aka Alan Wren) will be headed to the Isle of Wight Festival for the very first time.

John Giddings, the Festival's promoter, says, "When you talk about the soundtrack of our lives, The Stone Roses are embedded in it. I am so proud to get them to our island- they will kick the weekend off with a bang."

The dates for the twelfth Isle of Wight festival are confirmed as from Thursday 13th until Sunday 16th June 2013. There are no acts confirmed yet for 2013. For the line-up rumours as available please click here.

An adult ticket with camping is priced at £185, with NUS weekend tickets with camping priced at £175, and a child (7 to 12 years) weekend ticket with camping is priced at £92.50. All children 6 years old and under on 13th June 2013 can go free of charge but must still be included in the booking in order to receive a wristband. A Campervan ticket is priced at £100, and parking for the weekend (4 Days) is priced at £15.

Tickets are not yet on sale. They will go on sale at 9am on Wednesday 28th November, and eFestivals will have links to buy them then.
