Alt-Fest is a new crowd funded alternative lifestyle festival slated for 2014 that hopes to be a crowd-funded festival, sourced and created by the crowd itself with them also determining the form of the festival by voting on acts to appear on the bill.

Alt-Fest wants fans to choose the line-up, offer resources, labour, and finance for the event set to take place from Friday 15th to Sunday 17th August 2014 at a 50,000 capacity site in the South East of England, to be announced soon.

Alt-Fest will be a crowd-funded festival, sourced and created by the crowd itself with them also determining the form of the festival by voting on acts to appear on the bill. Festival-goers are stepping forward to volunteer the crowd-sourced resources, labour and finance that Alt-Fest requires to be a truly punter-powered event, where ticket-holders are fully invested in the decision making process.

The first acts confirmed are Fields of the Nephilim, Front 242, and The March Violets, in total Alt-Fest will feature five live music stages, presenting crucial Goth, Metal and Industrial acts, plus the 'best-of-the-next' on a newcomers stage, and a punter voted main stage line-up.

Ticket prices have not yet been announced for the outdoor festival which will offer 5 days of camping and market stalls. With multiple live music stages covering the genres of Goth, Industrial, EBM, Electronica and metal. There will also be clubbing marquees, a circus big top and a variety of alternative performers from burlesque to fetish, comedy and beyond.

Alt-Fest will be family friendly with the aged 12 and under getting free entry to the festival (1 free child per full paying adult). There will also be a creche for very small ones, activities for children including fairground rides, a petting zoo, bouncy castles and more.

There will also be an adult only 'village' which will be a self-contained area with a strict over 18 access, with a full Club AntiChrist clubbing zone and adult 'play' area.

Early arrivals will be able to pitch up on Thursday 14th August 2014 with the main festival starting at 11am on Friday 15th. Camping is available right through till the Tuesday morning whilst the Festival ends at 2am on the Sunday night.

The event also offer a Dismembership scheme, limited to 500 Members per year, dismembership offers discounts on tickets, merchandise and the like for £40 which goes towards paying the line-ups and attractions at Alt-Fest.

The support the event has already received in these early stages has been sufficient to secure a 300 acre site, and to open talks with decent quality acts. In February, a Kickstarter campaign will launch enabling punters to contribute to shaping the festival’s next big step forward.
