Preston's Avenham Park will host G-Fest a one-off North West event as part of the Preston Guild 2012 celebrations. The event for 15,000 takes place on Saturday 8th September, 2012.

Soul star Maverick Sabre will headline the bill along with urban performer Labrinth, former N-Dubz front-man Dappy and feisty R&B girl group StooShe.

The full line-up also includes Clement Marfo & the Frontline, The Milk, and and alternative hip-hop duo Abandoman.

Preston Guild takes place once every 20 years. It is the world's only year-long festival with a history dating back more than 800 years, and is the only Guild still celebrated in the UK. G-Fest will take place during ten days of cultural, sporting and civic events from 31 August to 9 September which will form the culmination of the Guild year.

Councillor Peter Rankin, Leader of Preston City Council, said in February this year, "The festival will welcome some well known names to the city and show Preston at its best. The Evolution team have shown their ability to create a great event with some top acts in the North East and we are looking forward to hosting something equally spectacular in September here in Preston."

An early bird adult weekend ticket is priced at £18, Under 16s must be accompanied by an adult. Babes in arms (aged under 2 years) can enter for free.
