John Probyn and Paul Latham of Live Nation, today announced that they will undertake their first ever long walk as a charity fundraiser, travelling a 144 miles from Donington the home of Download to Hyde Park starting on the day after the festival on Monday 11th June to raise money for Cancer Research UK.

After walking 144 miles along A and B roads, canals etc, John and Paul will eventually arrive in Hyde Park where Live Nation are staging three events this summer Wireless, Hard Rock Calling and London Live, which will feature giant screens over 15 free to access days of culture and musical entertainment celebrating the London 2012 Olympics.

The Long Walk will take five days and include a picturesque 88 mile stretch of the Grand Union Canal and back up facilities on Canal boats are already in place.

John Probyn the Chief Operating Officer for Live Nation Music stated, "Cancer Research UK is a charity that Live Nation has supported for some time and I wanted to do something personally. I'm never going to climb a mountain or cycle across the desert, but I'm very good at putting one foot in front of the other. It's 144 miles past 73 pubs, what could possibly go wrong?!"

Paul Latham Live Nation's CEO added, "I am forever grateful that my family and I are in reasonable health. However I never take that for granted, nor forget those who are not so lucky. A few blisters, aches and abstention from Guinness for a year is a small price to pay to raise money for the great work Cancer Research UK does... One step at a time!"

Jools Tait, Director of Partnerships at Cancer Research UK, said, "We're grateful for the continuing support of Live Nation and we wish John and Paul all the best for their epic walk. Their efforts will help to raise important funds forCancer Research UK's life-saving work."
